The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
What is RCIA?
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process through which interested adults and older children are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life. For those who join an RCIA process, it is a period of reflection, prayer, instruction, discernment, and formation. There is no set timetable and those who join the process are encouraged to go at their own pace and take as much time as they need.
Generally, the RCIA process at Most Precious Blood begins in the fall and runs weekly culminating at Easter where our brothers and sisters are welcomed into the Church. The schedule is flexible and each person's journey is unique.
RCIA is not a class, a test, or a course. Rather it is journey that begins in the hearts of those interested in the Catholic faith and continues through discussion, sharing, learning and growth as we encounter Christ together in the midst of this believing community.
How can I help with RCIA?
If you or someone you know is interested in becoming Catholic or would like to continue their faith journey in a Catholic setting, please contact the RCIA coordinator or the pastor below.
You can also share your gifts of prayer and support as a sponsor to those journeying as candidates, or may lend your skills as a team leader assisting with setup, coordination, hospitality and teaching. Please contact Father Greg for more information.
