Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you.
As the Father has sent me, so I send you."
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and
said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins
you forgive are forgiven them, and whose
sins you retain are retained."
It has been the intention that when Jesus ascended to his Father’s glory that he would be with us by the grace of his Holy Spirit at work through the sacramental life. This mission has been entrusted to his Apostles and has vicariously been handed on through the laying on of hands
