Lord, my servant is lying at home paralysed, in
terrible distress.’ And he said to him, ‘I will come
and cure him.’ The centurion answered, ‘Lord,
I am not worthy to have you come under my roof;
but only speak the word, and my servant will be healed…

We are particularly blessed at Most Precious Blood to have the assistance of a Parish Nurse on staff. As our Parish Nurse, Sr. Linda Parent reaches out to members of our parish community to ensure that people’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs are taken care of. Recognizing that she can not do this on her own she leads a group of dedicated parishioners in discernment about the needs of the community.
The members learn as much as they can about developing a health ministry in the congregation. Members pay special attention to various health programs and the logistics of meeting the health needs of our faith community. The Health Cabinet supports the Parish Nurse in the healing ministry by interpreting connections between faith and health, promoting wholeness of “body, mind, and spirit”, and following in the footsteps of Jesus, who is healer of all. The council then offers practical solutions to the Parish Nurse and Parish Team as to how we can meet these needs.
